Well… it’s been forever since my last post. But I just HAVE TO to talk about a new anime released in October of 2011. So far, I’ve watched 4 episodes and IT! IS! EPIC!!!
It’s sort of like Code Geass with the strategic operations and rebellion against the oppressive government but with some Bleach-like scenes with all the overpowered epic action scenes.
Shu, the main character, is a ‘normal’ school guy who gets dragged into the whole situation with the GHQ (government) and the Undertakers (group of rebels). He gains the ‘power of kings’ which allows him to pull out or extract a weapon, called a void, from anyone within a certain age group. Each weapon reflects on the person’s heart and there’s some impressive stuff like the Kaleidoscope, Gravity Gun, and Sword. Right now in the beginning, Shu is really wimpy…understandable I suppose. But I’ve got a feeling he’s gonna get real badass as the anime progresses; at least he goes into a different state of mind (a much more badass one) when he’s using his ‘power of kings’.
The sword I just mentioned, is extracted from the lead female character called Inori. She’s the lead singer in Egoist which is a fictional music band in this anime and she seems to have met Shu before in their childhood but Shu doesn’t seem to remember apart from random flashbacks. Apart from the beautiful character design for her, I also like that he actually has fighting capability and not just another kyaa anime girl who only works as Shu’s voice of reason. In episode 4, she dodged giant mechas with epic moves to get to the cell where Shu was being held prisoner. Now that’s what more girl characters should be like (and I’m referring to the guts and epic acrobat moves she pulled).
Next up is Gai…fangasm. Definitely one of the most epic characters I’ve ever seen. Episode 1: We see and hear Gai’s footsteps in silence. Then he’s standing on an elevated platform thing with lights shining and showing his silhouette. Cue badass theme music. You already know he’s important xD After a battle scene where Gai takes out a group of thugs without breaking a sweat, definitely important AND freakin badass. His character design is also very interesting that he has long hair and a pretty face but I never once mistook him for a girl. That’s probably ‘cause he has sharp eyes and a black trench coat. Screams badass from miles away. Later, it is also revealed that he’s the head/commander of Undertaker; he’s got well planned strategies, charisma, and would make a good spy as seen in episode 4 where in he disguises himself and can change his demeanor completely.
Ok, enough about the epic characters. Overall, I think that the plot is interesting, the characters are well designed, art is beautiful, visuals for epic action scenes even more beautiful, and background music and OST are some of the best I’ve ever seen in anime. So…
YOU. MUST. WATCH. GUILTY. CROWN. ANIME. seriously. xD
In fact, this is so good that I might make AMVs with the footage ;)
Note: Pictures attached in later posts.
OKIES!! Back from overseas vacation and I have internet access and Sony Vegas!! Woohoo! Though England was fun to visit of course :)
So, an update about current projects:
MEP part for FSS (Flame and Soul Studio). Our first ever collaborative MEP. I’ve got a few seconds down and edited, but still thinking about how to make it epic-er.
Video project not using anime for a friend of mine who has been waiting for her finished video for over a year now…ehehe xP
Main project (that isn’t so main now considering my priority order) using the song “Give Me Everything You’ve Got” by Blue Stahli. No one will be seeing the completed version of this anything soon with the pace I’m going at.
Gurren Lagann trailer which I’m completely stuck at but unwilling to abandon.
So there; mah current projects…I should work on completing the list huh…
Now onto other random stuff. When I got back from vacation, I had over 180+ notifications in my youtube email account. That took approx 3 hours to go through and reply to stuff and watch new videos. Note to self, try not to leave the internet for extended periods of time…Also already changed my profile and channel to show that I’m not on hiatus anymore.
I can’t think of anything to write about now so…
Ciao~
4th July, 2011
I just got my first strike for copyright infringement…bummer -_- I hope this account lasts longer than my previous one…
Another interesting new installment that youtube has is the “copyright infringement school” with a video featuring the characters in Happy Tree Friends, and a mini quiz at the right of the screen asking questions to clarify and to teach us about copyright laws.
But anyways, I did the usual routine:
1. Made a back up account called FiammaBlanc. Yea, that name took a while to decide on. I still love FiammaNoire the best.
2. Made the back up account look pretty because I can’t stand it if my account looks hideous.
3. Made a video to alert people that I have made a backup account and the reasons for it. At first, I planned to make the video like random shite but then couldn’t stand it when it looked noobish as well, so I changed the font from generic arial to some random fancy font lol xP
4. Put the link to my back up on my channel.
5. Wait and see who was bothered to watch and follow the notification.
When I hit my second strike, I’ll have to make another video and do all the moving procedures. I’ll probably blog about that too but hopefully it won’t be soon…
Not sure why I’m blogging about this but maybe my procedure thingie may help other people with copyright strikes. :)
Cheers~!!
1) As of now, my uber long AMV has 1 dislike :D That troll I have (the one who dislikes all my videos) finally found it lol :P
2) My video is apparently the #74 - Most Discussed (Today) - Film & Animation. First time ever!! :D
3) I don’t know why, but I’m having problems with changing the icon screenshot for the video. It’s already changed as indicated by the picture on my tumblr but in my page of videos, it doesn’t have a pic at all, and in my channel, it’s still the other screenshot. Youtube fail lol xP
The uber long AMV :D
Song: Propane Nightmares Celldweller remix
Artist: Pendulum & Celldweller
Program: Sony Vegas pro 8
Finally! I’ve finished the uber long AMV after like what? a month? And then I uploaded it yesterday which was officially the start of my vacation!! xD But as I’ve mentioned before, slight fail due to already hitting 1200+ before the vid getting finished. Hope it was enough to make your wait worth while.
As you can see, it’s split up into segments where in each segment, there’s a different layout design and effects. For some reason, a lot of people who commented so far like the Tsuna vs Byakuran game health and power bars. So~ I may try to make a completely game themed AMV if I find a worthy song :D
On a secondary note, I got a new comp :D Hallelujah~!! Less lag, doesn’t crash when I want to render something, and when I do render something, it happens in half the time xD Joy is me! Now it’s less painful to edit my videos which means I’ll be more inclined to edit.
That’s all for now. The video I’m talking about will be posted in the next post :)
Recently, I got into Deadman Wonderland manga (after I saw an AMV of it) and it’s freakin awesome!! It’s wicked, twisted, and morally challenged. There’s no good guys or bad guys, just people. And the conspiracies and angst are so dramatic. I love any scene with blood (does that make me sadistic or what? lol).
In the beginning, Ganta was…meh, at best. Then he got a dose of character development. And now he’s pretty damn badass but still has a ways to go. The thing about him was that the reactions, thoughts, emotions and the choices he made were so realistic! Unlike some anime characters just being “I will save you” or “I will stand for justice” right at the very start. We got to see Ganta’s rise from noob to semi-badass so far.
And Shiro, oh god Shiro. That’s so sad. Ganta goes and says “I love you” and then he finds out that Shiro was the Wretched Egg who killed so many. Perfect example of how unfair life is. But to be honest, I love all the characters and the fact that we have to keep on guessing about who’s gonna survive and who’s gonna die. ‘Cause even the good ones die (just look at Nagi).
Anyway, bottom line: I. Love. Deadman Wonderland. <3
I’m such a fail x.x I’ve already hit 1100+ subs but I’m still not done with my 1000+ sub video. Though it was sorta expected. The song IS 5 mins long to start with. And then I wanted to make it epic. So now it’s taking me like 4 days to complete 12 second segments. -_-
On the bright side, 12 exams done, only 4 more to go! Whoopie~!! Which means I won’t be nagged as much to study. So maybe I can focus on the AMV. Emphasis on ‘maybe’ since a lot of things could go wrong. Like my laptop crashing. It went all berserk 2 days ago and in my fit of panic, I backed up all of my files (to be on the safe side). It’s back to normal now but I’m getting paranoid that this one is gonna fail on me soon…
Ah well, that’s life. ;P
it’s ok :)
23rd May, 2011. I finally hit my 1000 sub mark. Rejoice!! I feel like puffing up with pride lol. Thank you to everyone, friends and subs alike, for supporting me and cheering me on. It’s my motivation to edit and get better.
And now I should start working on the 1000+ sub vid.
It’s gonna take forever!! x.x To anyone who reads this, here’s a spoiler, I’m using KHR (duh xD) and the song ‘Propane Nightmares - Celldweller remix’ which is around 5 minutes long. Holy carps it’s long!!! Especially since I want to make this epic. Now on to the next problem, I have no idea what effects to use. I’ve divided the song into segments so there will be a different fight in each segment, but I want to put in effects as well so keep it from getting boring. So far, I’ve thought of game effects, anime together with manga, and just simple frames. Gawd this is hard xP
So if anyone asks: Working on it. Will take a while (try forever) so there probably won’t be a new AMV that soon (unless it’s a mini boredom project to get my brain working). Cheers~!!
Yea, if you’ve read my previous post or read the description for my video on youtube, then you’d know that this was sorta a failed attempt at raw editing. At least I got the emotions and clip choice right…I hope?
Anyway, if you’ve read the video description, then you’d also know that this was inspired by Kazemon15AMVer’s Gokudera Tribute AMV using the same song. Erin is genius at raw editing and that video made me fall in love with the song (I’m Still Here by John Rzeznik. Yes, I know it’s an old song). The emotion in the vocals was amazing xD Just had to edit it! But couldn’t do something too similar to her masterpiece so I had sections for most of the characters.
I wish Yamamoto and Hibari had flashbacks featuring their child selves. Imagine the cuteness~!! x3 Gokudera sure has a lot of footage of his past. Definitely some good fodder for a Gokudera tribute AMV in the future, maybe?
Me <3 Liz for the film clutter. I’m still insanely happy to have new overlays to use especially since it’s film stuff. It made me remember a Bleach fanmade opening that I think may have used the same film overlays.
I’m not sure about the ending of the AMV I made though :\ It was kinda meh… but I couldn’t really think of anything else…oh well~ I’m too lazy to do a re-render anyway :P
